Burnout & chronic stress

When rest is no longer enough: neurofeedback may help support the stabilisation of stress regulation, sleep and resilience.

More calm, better sleep and greater resilience in daily life

Understanding burnout more clearly

Burnout often develops from persistent overload of the stress system. The autonomic nervous system remains on alert for too long, recovery becomes increasingly difficult and even simple demands can feel overwhelming.

Typical warning signs may include:

  • Persistent exhaustion despite sleep
  • Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
  • Concentration problems and mental fatigue
  • Emotional irritability or inner emptiness
  • Physical stress symptoms such as headaches, tension or gastrointestinal complaints
  • The feeling of hardly being able to detach from work or responsibility

How neurofeedback may support burnout

ILF neurofeedback aims at the self-regulation of the autonomic nervous system. The focus is not on enduring even more pressure, but on helping your system become more flexible again in switching between activation and relaxation.

Possible changes over time may include:

  • Better sleep quality and easier falling asleep
  • More inner calm, less constant tension
  • Greater resilience in everyday life
  • Clearer thinking and better concentration
  • Less pronounced physical stress reactions

How quickly and to what extent changes become noticeable varies individually. Neurofeedback is a learning process and is continually adapted to your responses.

A complementary way back to regulation

Burnout is not a sign of weakness, but a serious signal. With ILF neurofeedback, I support your nervous system in developing more stability again. In combination with occupational therapy, we can also work on practical everyday strategies so that changes are not only noticeable during sessions, but also in daily life.

Important: In cases of more severe exhaustion, depressive symptoms or prolonged inability to work, you should also seek support from your GP or a psychotherapist. Neurofeedback complements care — it does not replace medical or psychotherapeutic treatment.
